专家简介:

Wojciech Klein is a mechatronics engineer with over 20 years of experience in industrial automation, robotics, and smart manufacturing. He holds a PhD in Mechanics Engineering from the Silesian University of Technology and has led multidisciplinary teams in designing and implementing automation solutions, including AGV/AMR mobile-robot design and integrations. As founder of technology ventures and R&D director in Etisoft company he managed European funded projects, budgeting, and product commercialization with strategic planning. He excels at multibody dynamics systems and discrete-event simulation, hardware–software co-design, and optimization of production processes using Industry 4.0 technologies. A published academic and university lecturer, he bridges research and industry to deliver innovative, patent-aware solutions and seeks opportunities to drive digital transformation and lead scalable automation projects from concept to production.

This presentation explores virtualization of the design process of AGV/AMR mobile robots as a case study. It outlines how digital twins, simulation environments, and model-based engineering accelerate design cycles, reduce physical prototyping, and improve system reliability. Key topics include creating high-fidelity virtual models of mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems with hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) and software-in-the-loop (SiL) testing; and using discrete-event and continuous simulations to validate fleet coordination, traffic management, and safety scenarios. Practical examples demonstrate optimization of navigation algorithms, sensor placement, and battery management through iterative virtual tests, leading to measurable gains in commissioning time and operational uptime. Attendees will gain actionable insights on toolchains, best practices for co-simulation, and strategies to scale virtualization across intralogistics projects to accelerate time-to-market and reduce development risk.
